WHO ARE THE HIDDEN INNOVATORS?

We need your help to make innovation as common in Birmingham as scheduling a meeting or writing an email. Thought leaders across the globe are saying that this is the change required to ensure that companies of all sizes can not only compete, but thrive, in this ever-accelerating economy—and in some cases even dominate.

The author John Steinbeck once said, "Ideas are like rabbits. You get a couple and learn how to handle them, and pretty soon you have a dozen." We're hoping that this little social experiment that we're dubbing Hidden Innovators will serve as a spark: not only to spur more imaginative thinking and innovative projects with the local community, but—as importantly—offer a way to handle them as well.

The first step in that process is to uncover the individuals within businesses that are innovators, but either don't think of themselves as such or don't know how their unique set up talents can contribute to the innovation process. By taking part and spreading the word to others, we hope that you can help us make that possible because the more people that participate, the better the results.

"We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we're curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths."

Innovator Assessment

Two Ravens places humans at the center of everything we do, and our search for Hidden Innovators is no different.

This crowdsourced, social-engagement experiment will culminate in the creation of a summary report of findings, as well as an innovator assessment tool—informed by data collected from the crowdsourcing process—that participants can use to identify their own unique innovator type and area business leaders can utilize to recognize the hidden innovators in their midst. An example of how a team of innovator types can be represented visually is shown to the right.

The hope is that access to this knowledge will then release the powerful, untapped innovation potential within area organizations, allowing them to affect significant positive change in the markets that they serve.

"No problem can be solved from the same level of consciousness that created it."
